travel agent number. This phrase is often used by people unfamiliar with the travel industry to refer to the IATA number, a unique industry identifier issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to travel agencies. Because ARC uses the same number to identify ARC-accredited agencies, the term "ARC number" or ARC-IATA number" is also used.
Another term you will sometimes see is "IATAN number," but this is erroneous since IATAN does not itself issue identifying numbers.
CLIA also issues identifying numbers to its members, so those too might be considered a "travel agent number."
