consumer disclosure notice. A written statement from a travel supplier or travel agent that informs a traveler of requirements or conditions of which they may not be aware. For example, a travel agent may make a written disclosure to a client that an upcoming trip to Brazil requires the client to obtain a visa and that the client should allot sufficient time to get one. Typically, such statements require the traveler to acknowledge receipt, usually by signing a copy. These notices reduce, but do not eliminate, the possibility of legal action later.
