Define Conga, Conga Line

conga, conga line. Slang. An informal system found in online forums whereby one person posts his/her coded referral link to a supplier site such as a hotel. When the link is clicked and results in a sign up on the supplier site, the referrer is rewarded in some way. People who take advantage of the link then post their own referral link, which they receive after signing up on the supplier site. The process is then repeated, creating a chain or a "conga line" of referrals, so-called after the dance of the same name. Etiquette holds that a referral link should be posted only once.
