West African CFA franc. The main currency of eight independent states in West Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bisseau, Mali, Niger, Sénégal and Togo. The franc is subdivided into 100 centimes, although no centime denominations have been issued. Abbreviated CFA.
